A Season of Building with Purpose

Expanding a business into a new country takes time, but that time can still be used purposefully.

For Greyling Communications, pro bono communications support is not about filling

time. It is a conscious decision to stay active, contribute where we can, and remain connected to the reasons we are passionate about PR, storytelling and purposeful communication.

As Greyling Communications builds its portfolio in Sweden, we are also offering pro bono communications support to NGOs, volunteer-led projects and purpose-driven organisations where we believe we can make a meaningful contribution.

For many non-profit organisations, communications sits near the bottom of a very long list.

The causes they support are important, but the people behind them are often stretched. Their attention is pulled toward the immediate needs of the organisation, whether that is service delivery, fundraising, volunteers, administration, events, advocacy, or simply keeping things moving.

This is where focused communications support can add value.

Clearer messaging, stronger content and more consistent storytelling can help organisations raise awareness of their causes and campaigns, engage the right audiences, and strengthen the funding and partnerships they need to broaden their impact.

That support can take different forms. It may be helping an organisation explain its purpose more clearly, shape website or social media content, prepare articles, structure a campaign, improve a newsletter, or create communication material that helps people understand why the cause matters.

For Greyling Communications, this is also an opportunity to build a portfolio that reflects the business we want to grow in Sweden.

We want our work to show not only what we can do, but how we think, how we approach a message, and how communications can be used in a way that is useful, considered and purposeful.

It also gives us the opportunity to work with local organisations, better understand Swedish culture, language, and business expectations.

The organisations we are supporting work across different areas, including child protection, environmental sustainability, animal welfare and heritage preservation. Each one has its own audience, challenges, and communication needs, but the principle remains the same: important causes need clear, credible, and consistent communication to reach the people who can support them.

Greyling Communications is a business, and our goal is to grow sustainably in Sweden. But this period has also been a reminder that progress does not only come in the form of a signed contract. It can come through a new relationship, clearer messaging, a stronger campaign, or a worthy organisation feeling more confident about how it presents itself.

For now, that feels like a good place to build from.

Lee spearheaded VOASA’s communications efforts, producing a well-regarded industry magazine and newsletter that kept members informed and engaged. One of her standout achievements was the successful coordination of the industry’s first conference in many years – a milestone event that reflected her ability to lead, plan, and execute with professionalism and vision. Lee has played a pivotal role in the ongoing development of VOASA, particularly within an increasingly complex and evolving regulatory environment. Her presence within the industry has been an asset.

I have had the pleasure of working with Lee Greyling Communications in various capacities through her long-standing association with First Group. Throughout this time, she consistently demonstrated professionalism and a deep understanding of strategic brand communication, stakeholder relations, and media engagement — across both internal and external channels. Lee is a strong communicator, strategic thinker, and someone who genuinely invests in the relationships she builds. Many of these, like ours, have grown into lasting friendships. Her contribution to the South African timeshare industry has been both significant and appreciated.
